Bestiary

Ideally, Game Masters should create every monster the characters face while prepping for each session. This makes every monster unique and fresh, reflecting the chaotic nature of demons and the warp. It has the extra benefit of preventing the players from memorizing the monster stats, which can give their characters an unfair advantage.

However, this isn’t always possible. Here are a few sample monsters to use if you are pressed for time.

Warpchanged Animals

Warpchanged animals are normal animals that have been corrupted by the warp, an invisible, intangible chaotic energy that floats throughout the World of Exterminis like an evil fog. Contact with the warp causes extremely painful mutations which fill the animal with pain and rage. Driven insane by this process, these animals attack anything and everything in sight non-stop until they are killed.

Warpchanged Cow

Trekking through long abandoned farmland, the heroes have lulled themselves into a false sense of security when the eerie silence around them is pierced by a long and mournful bleat of a cow: “Mooooooo.”

The heroes freeze in place, and look on in horror as a herd of cows with red eyes and impossibly large horns gallops over the hill, and charges them. Not even these once pastoral fields are immune to the warp and the touch of Exterminis.

Warpchanged Bear

The heroes have set up camp for the night, and most of them are sleeping peacefully when the guard is startled by the sudden appearance of a large bear crashing through the camp. It’s eyes are burning crimson orbs, and flame shoots out from its nostrils. Jagged horns protrude from its thick hide, and oozing sores cover its body. Consumed by rage and pain, it attacks the camp with vigor.

Undead

Undead monsters are deceased members of the sentient ancestries who have been raised from the dead. Most of these monsters are mindless husks that drift across the land attacking the living in search of the living essence they hunger for. However, a few are powerful beings who have greater ambitions and hungers, such as wealth or power.

Skeleton

Tiny pieces of rotting flesh hang from its skeletal frame as it comes towards you. Still wearing the armor it wore in life and wielding a broken sword, the monster is clearly ready for a fight.

It opens its mouth, and black ichor housing dead maggots and insects spews forth, splattering one of the heroes. The other heroes look on in horror as the ichor crawls over the victim’s body and into her mouth and nose. Within a matter of seconds, their former companion begins sprouting oozing sores all over her body. She collapses in pain, and gets back up with that same hunger showing in her eyes.

I will continue my research, and I will increase my power until I am ready to take my place among the gods. But first, I will deal with you, the insignificant worms who have dared to intrude upon my solace.”

Demons

Demons are wholly evil monsters originating from any of the thousands of hells found throughout the multiverse. They come in every size, shape, and form imaginable, and their only desire is to spread as much hate and suffering as they can. All demons serve Exterminis, and support his mission of destroying all of creation.

Goblin

Goblins are some of the least powerful demons that exist. However, what they lack in power, they make up for in sheer numbers. Goblins travel in large packs of 10-20 individuals, and the numbers in their lairs are best described as hordes. There is no end to these tiny demons.

They are often underestimated by their victims and other demons alike because of their beauty and soft features. Succubi are more than just a pretty face, however, as the fools who get in their way soon learn. Vicious physical attacks combined with powerful magic make them some of the most powerful demons.
